Why does the polishing on the case look different on different surfaces? From the way they reflect the light, it seems like the smaller surfaces on the lugs are zaratsu polished but the bigger surface on the side are just normal polished?

But this new trend of this way over priced Grand Seiko is beyond stupid unless you are into giving your money away. You will never recoup your Money on these grand seikos. Always, go with Rolex or an Omega Speedy for this type of money. That's why you see alot of them for sale and they dont seem to move on govberg web site under pre owned.

Hi Tim, I noted very narrow strip of another color on all the hands and hour indices. If they are not lume, what are they for? I also see these on my SBGA281.
The problem with Grand Seiko's is that they're all too thick. 12.5mm is the maximum reasonable thickness and anything more than should be seriously thought over before purchasing. Pure tool watches are of course exceptions.
